PREVENTATIVE / DIAGNOSTIC TREATMENT
Protecting our patients’ smiles is part of our core practice philosophy. We encourage patients to maintain their oral health because doing so can help you avoid many common dental conditions in the future. Preventive care includes:
Prophylaxis
A cleaning procedure that includes the removal of plaque, calculus, and surface staining. This also includes a comprehensive evaluation of gum tissue and an oral cancer screening, and recommended digital x-rays are taken.
Sealants
Applied to the grooves and fissures of teeth, sealants protect hard-to-brush places and help prevent decay.
Athletic Mouthguards
Custom-fabricated, multi-laminated mouthguards prevent dental injuries and concussions during sporting activities.
Occlusal Guards
These custom-fabricated appliances protect teeth from grinding and clenching, and are used in the treatment of temporal mandibular joint (TMJ).
PERIODONTAL SERVICES
Fighting infection and disease, these procedures treat the gums and tissues surrounding and supporting your teeth.
Scale and Root Planning
In some cases a periodontal pocket, a space between the tooth and gums, forms. This procedure removes bacteria and calculus in areas of deep pocketing in order to treat gum disease.
Periodontal Maintenance
For patients with periodontal disease, this procedure takes the place of preventative cleaning. Periodontal disease requires a deeper, more complex cleaning because the spaces between the teeth and gums are deeper than those found in healthy gums. Plaque and calculus are removed from above and below the gumline and from pocketed areas.
RESTORATIVE SERVICES
Most of our patients want to save their natural teeth whenever possible. When tooth loss does occur, however, we are here with the most reliable ways to restore your smile. These procedures are performed to restore the tooth structure lost to dental disease or injury.
Fillings
A variety of materials are available to restore your teeth, including tooth-colored composite fillings. In addition to being more aesthetically pleasing, they are more conservative than traditional fillings, allowing more tooth structure to be saved.
Crowns
A crown is a restoration that covers, or “caps,” a tooth to restore it to its normal shape, size, and function. Crowns strengthen teeth and are available in a wide variety of materials. We also offer Cerec made crowns, when appropriate, we can make your crown in the office at the time of your appointment so you don’t have to come back for a second appointment or have to wear a temporary crown.

Endodontic Therapy (Root Canal Treatment)
Endodontic therapy is performed when tooth decay spreads to the root of a tooth and infects the pulp (nerve tissue). It consists of the nerve tissue being cleaned out to eliminate the infection, and then the canals of the tooth are filled and sealed. A tooth that has undergone endodontic therapy is weaker than a normal tooth and often requires a crown to restore its strength. This procedure is performed on select cases in our office.
Extractions
The removal of non-restorable as well as wisdom teeth is done on a case-by-case basis in our office.
TMJ / Facial Pain
Treatment options are available that can greatly reduce or even eliminate facial pain as a result of a problematic temporal mandibular joint (TMJ).
Replacing Missing Teeth
It is very important to replace any missing teeth to help you smile, chew, and speak naturally. There are several options for replacing missing teeth, and choosing the correct treatment is extremely important. Our doctors will work with you to determine which option is best for you, including:
Implants
A dental implant is much like a natural tooth and often the best option for replacing natural teeth. A small post is placed in the jawbone to act as the root of the tooth, and then an implant crown is designed and placed over this to blend in with the rest of your smile. Dental implants can also be used to anchor and support partial or complete dentures.
Bridges
In some cases, a bridge may be the best replacement option. A bridge is a non-removable restoration that fills the space where one or more teeth are missing. A bridge has three parts: a pontic (the replacement tooth) in the middle, and a crown on either side.
Partial Dentures
A removable restoration used to replace multiple missing teeth.
Full Dentures
In some cases, a full denture may be the only option. Full dentures feel and function very differently than your natural teeth and require a period of adjustment for new wearers. Fortunately,
some of the difficulties of wearing dentures can be minimized when they are combined with the support of implants.
COSMETIC TREATMENT
An attractive smile can have a wonderful effect on people, and we offer many options to help you do just that. We can correct teeth that are discolored, misaligned, twisted, unevenly spaced, too long or too short, worn down, or even missing. Talk with the doctors about achieving the smile you always wanted, and enjoy the confidence boost that often comes with it. Our services include:
